There will be changes to Ekka public transport in 2023, due to the construction of Cross River Rail. There will be travel options available to ensure you can use public transport to and from the Ekka in 2023, including buses and trains from nearby stop and stations. If you prefer to travel by bus:
- Catch the Ekka shuttle (route EK1) or a high-frequency bus to Herston busway station – which is only a 550-metre (7-minute) walk to the show gates.
- The Ekka shuttle will run frequent services between Woolloongabba and Herston busway stations, stopping at all stations in between from 8:30am to 10:30pm every day during Ekka.
If you prefer to travel by train:
- Catch a train to Fortitude Valley and follow the Ekka signs to the show gates, which is only a 550-metre (7-minute) walk.
Providing accessible transport to and from the Ekka is a priority. Accessible transfers will be available for customers with accessibility needs from Herston busway station and Fortitude Valley train station direct to show gate 5.
